Southwest General Hospital Opens Partial Day Program

Southwest General Hospital has opened an Adult/Geriatric Partial Hospitalization/Intensive Outpatient Program on the first floor of the hospital.

The program is designed to keep patients with psychiatric diagnosis in a day setting and get them the help they need in order to live useful and productive lives. Patients arrive at 8:30 a.m. and leave at 2:30 p.m. Upon admission they are given an H&P unless they were hospitalized less than 30 days prior to attending the day program. After a continental breakfast, they begin their day with participation in psychiatric, occupational and activity therapy. Patients are also evaluated daily for physical problems.

Patients admitted to the day program must have Medicare and attend three to five days a week.
